IF YOU ARE FEELING  OR HAVE FELT LIKE YOU ARE DOING THIS MOMMY THING ALL WRONG, THEN KEEP READING.

Wisdom from the mouth of 14 year old Connel:

There will be days that you will get it right. You will do the right thing at the right time and you will feel like wonder woman. But there will be days where you will be less on fleek target. On these days you will do the wrong thing at the right time or the right thing at the wrong time.

If you are having a completely sucky day, you will do the wrong thing and the wrong time and feel like you might just as well have murdered everyone’s favourite purple dinosaur. On these days shame clings to your very being and you wonder if you are ever going to get this right.

On these days… make or buy pancakes and remember:

A few flopped pancakes does not make anyone a bad chef. Serving those flopped pancakes as if they were up to standard, that makes someone a bad chef. Making a few mistakes does not make you a bad mom. Ignoring your flaws and serving your dysfunction as the norm… THAT can make you a not so great mom.

The beauty of the flops are that they taste the same as the perfect pancakes, they just look a little more messy. So decorate your flops with sincere apologies and celebrate them with a smile shining through your tears. You will teach your children to flip over and try again and again and again. You will inspire them to not let their mistakes define them.

Another parenting flop? Flip your lid if you need to… but then brush your flop aside and try again. Your timing might be better next time. Your skills and technique will improve with every attempt.

You are doing just fine.. your pancake(s) kid(s) will turn out more than fine… in fact, they are already AWESOME.
